Gary Johnson felt the draw at Cardiff City was a fair result after a lively but goalless Severnside derby encounter at Ninian Park.

City hit the crossbar through Nicky Maynard's shot, while Cardiff had chances of their own in an end-to-end match.

Report: Verdict on the 0-0 draw

Gary told Bristol City World: "I think a draw was fair. I think both sides created chances, especially in the second half.

"I thought Cardiff started better than us but we weathered the storm in the first 25 minutes before getting back into the game.

"We only really had one chance in the first half when Nicky Maynard hit the crossbar.

"In the second half it was a much better second half where both teams went for it. It was a bit too open probably, but that's because both teams wanted to win the game.

"We had some opportunities, but so did they. I'm just pleased to say there will be some highlights for the Championship programme tomorrow morning."

Brian Wilson limped off through injury early in the game following a kick just above the ankle.

Gary added: "He got a knock around his shin, which has caused him problems before, so he was honest enough to come off."
