CITY MASTERS SUFFER DEFEAT
City's Masters team were beaten in Sunday's Grand Final in Birmingham.
The team had changed since their victory in the Western Masters - versus Bristol Rovers, Cardiff City and Swansea City.
Victory back then earned their place in the final, but there was no Marcus Stewart or Rob Edwards this time around.
Instead, assistant manager Keith Millen and Micky Mellon were drafted in as replacements.
City were handed a tough looking quarter-final against Wolves, and despite pulling the score back from 3-1 to 3-3, a late goal saw Wolves into the semis by the odd goal in seven. Goals for City came from Sean McCarthy, Martin Kuhl and Gary Owers.
But they were beaten by the eventual winners as Wolves went on to lift the trophy with a 4-3 victory over Manchester City in the final.
City will surely be back again next year, looking first off to retain their title as Western Masters champions.
City Squad: Dave Mogg, Gary Owers, Keith Millen, Micky Mellon, Clayton Blackmore, Martin Kuhl, Sean McCarthy, Rob Newman, Mickey Bell.
