City Under-18s enjoyed a dream start to the 2008/09 FA Premier Academy League campaign, thrashing Stoke City 7-1 away.

John Clayton's youngsters brushed aside their hosts and were already 4-0 by half-time.

Mark Magee bagged two, with Robert Stambolziev and Marlon Jackson also netting.

After the interval the rout continued with Joe Edwards scoring a stunning volley and Jackson bagging his second and City's sixth goal.

Stoke pulled one back, but Ashley Kington rounded off a stunning victory with a seventh goal in stoppage time.

John Clayton told bcfc.co.uk : "This is a brilliant result. The lads have worked very hard in pre-season and their efforts have paid off today."
