The draw for round two of this season's Carling Cup competition takes place this evening - and City will be seeded.

That means Gary Johnson's men won't face any Premier League opposition in round two, after booking their progress with a 2-1 win over Peterborough United last night.

The draw takes place live on Sky Sports tonight, following the conclusion of the Wycombe Wanderers v Birmingham City tie, with an approximate time of 10pm (later if extra time and penalties are needed)

All 32 winners from last night's ties will be joined in the draw by the four victors in this evening's fixtures. And twelve Premier League sides will also enter the fray, will all clubs competing in Europe - bar Manchester City - given a bye into the third round.

The Football League has confirmed that tonight's draw will be seeded on last season's finishing positions in the league, and City are guaranteed to be seeded.
