BETSY CLEARED FOR TALKS
Gary Johnson has confirmed Kevin Betsy has been given the opportunity to talk to clubs regarding a possible move away from Ashton Gate.
The winger was in Swindon tonight watching their pre-season friendly versus Plymouth Argyle, and afterwards Maurice Malpas confirmed he wants to sign the winger permanently.
He said on swindontownfc.co.uk: "We are looking at [signing] Kevin Betsy and hopefully something can be done there. He was here tonight to have a look around. He wanted to see Swindon play and hopefully he has gone away happy.
Malpas added: "That deal is basically down to him and Bristol City. We have tried to accommodate him as best we can. He wants to come here, as we have seen by his presence here tonight."
City boss Gary Johnson told bcfc.co.uk: "We have allowed Kevin to talk to clubs and several have shown interest in him."
Betsy signed for City from Wycombe Wanderers in January 2007 for £150,000, before going on to play a big part in the club's promotion from League One.
First team chances were limited last season, and the winger spent time on loan at Yeovil Town and Walsall.
