Bradley Orr is hoping to make a return to action at Forest Green Rovers on Saturday.

The right-back needed surgery after fracturing his cheekbone and eye socket in May's play-off final defeat to Hull City at Wembley.

But the Liverpudlian returned to training with the rest of his team-mates on July 1st and is now looking forward to getting back involved once more.

"I'm great and everything with regards to the operation has gone fine," Bradley told bcfc.co.uk.

"There are bits of numbness in my face but the doctor said that's to be expected. Otherwise all is fine and I'm looking forward to getting involved in games again."

Bradley also confirmed he wouldn't be wearing a face mask for the pre-season games, which begin at Forest Green on Saturday.

"I don't think a mask does much good anyway in honesty," he added. "If you take a knock then you take a knock and a thin plastic mask wouldn't be much protection.

"I'm sure once I've got my first header out of the way then it's back to normal again."
