Ashton Gate Stadium plays host to some of the biggest names in darts this weekend.

Top darts stars - such as legendary 13-time World Champion Phil "The Power" Taylor and Holland's greatest export Raymond Van Barneveld - are heading to Bristol for a sell-out PDC tournament on Saturday and Sunday.

Prize money of £40,000 is up for grabs across the two day tournament, to be held in the Evening Post Dolman Exhibition Hall and sponsored by Bristol Trade Centre.

Others players involved include local boy Mark "Flash" Dudbridge - a City fan - James "The Machine" Wade, Peter "One Dart" Manley and Colin "Jaws" Lloyd.

Tournaments promoter Nigel Oldfield says the fact that tickets have sold out proves the people of Bristol's love for darts.

He told bcfc.co.uk: "We knew that there was a darts interest in Bristol but we were delighted with the uptake and could easily have sold more tickets if we had the space.

"We're hopeful that the event will be a success for all concerned and may even pave the way for future tournaments to come."

Meanwhile, Ashton Gate is also one of the many venues around the city hosting part of the annual Rat Race event this weekend.

Competitors will be passing through the stadium between 2-5pm on Sunday to perform a challenge involving the Wedlock Stand. For more details on the event click here.
