SURGERY FOR INJURED BRADLEY

Posted on: Sun 25 May 2008

Bradley Orr had surgery on his depressed fractured cheekbone in London today and the early signs are very positive.

The defender was stretchered off in the first half of City's 1-0 play-off final defeat against Hull City at Wembley.

The injury was inflicted during a clash of heads with Nick Barmby, and despite bravely carrying on, the defender's injury eventually got the better of him.

Rushed straight to hospital for X-rays as the game continued, Bradley was kept in overnight for observation with his family in attendance.

It was hoped that surgery would take place last night, but a specialist was unavailable. Instead surgery took place on his fracture today - spanning the cheekbone and eye socket - and Bradley should return home shortly.

Everyone at the club wishes Bradley the speediest of recoveries.
