David Noble put his superb late winner at Crystal Palace down to tired legs.

City were still recovering from the disappointment of having Louis Carey's goal cancelled out by a Ben Watson penalty at the death when the former Arsenal trainee lashed in a superb 30-yard winner.

Typically David was reluctant to heap too much praise on himself and even claimed the goal came about because he couldn't run anymore.

He told Bristol City World: "I really don't know where that came from. There wasn't long left, something like two or three minutes to go in injury time.

"The ball popped out to Nick and I shouted for it. When it came to me I didn't want to run with it any further because my legs were gone.

"I just hit it and luckily hit it pretty well. As soon as I'd struck it and looked at the ball I knew it was going in - and I couldn't wait to celebrate!"

Eagles boss Neil Warnock claimed City over-celebrated their win at Selburst Park, but David said: "We know this tie is far from over.

"There's only one goal in it and 90 minutes of football still to be played. It's only half-time."
