FCF MEETING MINUTES FOR FEBRUARY
The latest meeting of the Fans Consultative Forum took place at Ashton Gate on February 28th and bcfc.co.uk brings supporters the minutes.
Managing director of Ashton Gate Doug Harman (DH) hosted the meeting. Head of commercial Kerry Price (KP), head of operations Keith Draisey (KD) and fans liaison officer David Lloyd (DL) were also in attendance.
POLICING
One member asked about the Cardiff game at Ashton Gate. It was reported that Police were outside the stadium, some filming, when they should be inside. KD confirmed stewards are the first response, then Police with back up stewards. Ultimately it is down to the match commander. Police are within their rights to film within the stadium.
YOUTH CUP GAME
One member claimed there had been a lack of stewarding at the Youth Cup game versus Man City. KD confirmed it was an event for children (Academy) and therefore stewarded accordingly.
GOAL MUSIC
DL confirmed the club's position that we wouldn't use it this season after a trial without. Fans are split 50/50 about the subject. "It is something we are looking into for next season," he added.
NEW STADIUM
FCF members wanted to know how fans could get involved in consultation for the new stadium. DH confirmed architects are about to be appointed to design the stadium template (30,000 capacity, with future thought for 40,000). Staff have already submitted their requirements and wish list. Information will be pushed through programme, website and press. It was proposed that a supporters-based sub committee - drawing on FCF/SC/ST members - to co-ordinate the fans' views.
PRESSURE - LIFE IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE
One member asked how the club is coping with the increased pressure and media exposure. DH revealed there had been 55-plus press in attendance for the QPR game, when the previous season's opening game attracted around 20. DH confirmed the club's profile has risen dramatically.
FCF
As a focus group, the FCF considered regular meetings with the club to be vitally important and it is proposed that future FCF meetings are held every six weeks. There was also comment passed on the good attendance that night (19 in total).
DAS
The club was congratulated on the new deal.
SEASON TICKETS
The club was thanked for freezing prices and members are happy with the timing of the announcement too. One member wanted longer to pay, but it was pointed out that Barclaycard and Premium Credit options are available. DH also discussed the smart card introduction and the mechanics of it.
DH added: "We have listened to fans. The board felt it right to reward fans' loyalty."
Following a suggestion by an FCF member it was agreed the club would consider rewarding fans who attend the last six home matches of the season.
MEMBERSHIP SCHEME
The club is looking into this for next season and full details will be revealed shortly.
CAPACITY
KD confirmed the club, should it reach the Premier League, would need to provide certain capacity to away fans (10 per cent) and for non-season ticket holders (five per cent).
NEXT MEETING
Will take place at Ashton Gate on Thursday, April 10th at 7pm.
