City's players will be training today and tomorrow as they prepare for the Red'N'White Night clash with Crystal Palace.
Gary Johnson will take training at Abbots Leigh today, before returning home to watch all the other Championship games unfold on television.
And the City boss insists the practice is to keep in line with his usual preparations for a Saturday matchday, as his charges get set for Monday night football.
"Training today and tomorrow is like training Thursday and Friday in preparation for a Saturday game," Gary told bcfc.co.uk.
"Some of our staff will be out watching games, like Keith Millen who is off to see our rivals Charlton and Watford play.
"But I'll be taking training, then I'll watch the results coming in later on Sky. In any case, there aren't many games taking place in the Championship due to FA Cup commitments."
City play Palace at Ashton Gate on Monday at 7.45pm. Ticket prices have been reduced as low as £20 for adults, £5 for under-16s when purchased in advance.
