Phil Jevons has completed an undisclosed fee move to League One side Huddersfield Town.
Last season's leading scorer has been on loan at the Galpharm Stadium since November 24th, scoing four goals in seven starts.
But today he has signed for the Terriers until 2010.
City manager Gary Johnson told bcfc.co.uk: "It's always a bit sad for me to lose a player like Phil Jevons because he's been fantastic for me over the years.
"He has helped my career as much as I believe I have helped his. Unfortunately he wasn't getting regular games in our team this season because of our winning run.
"There was a lot of competition and that always happens as you go up the levels. Jevo felt at this stage in his career that he needed to be playing games on a regular basis, even if that meant dropping down a level.
"Huddersfield suited him and I think he's enjoyed it there. Both clubs have been very sensible with the deal, and Jevo must have been reasonable with his deal as well. It's a move that suits all parties.
"I wish him well. I love him as a person and as a footballer. I'm sure whatever happens we'll stay in touch for ever more."
