I'M HERE TO PLAY FOOTBALL - NICK
Nick Carle says City's reputation as a "footballing team" was behind his decision to move to Ashton Gate.
The Australian international midfielder completed an undisclosed fee transfer from Genclerbirligi today, agreeing a contract at the club until the summer of 2011.
And in his first and exclusive City interview on Bristol City World, Nick said: "From what I've heard and what I've been told, the gaffer loves playing football.
"That was a big bonus for me after being told of the interest (from City). They are known for playing good football here and that's exactly how I like to do things.
"The team has been doing brilliant for the past two seasons, and they're doing fantastically well at the moment. I'm looking forward to the challenge to add my bit to the team when I can.
"I can see why the team is doing so well. The boys are great and the coaching set-up and everything around the club is excellent.
"I'm going to knuckle down in training over the next week or two to get myself ready. I'll bide my time and wait for my chance in the team, but I'll be ready when it comes along."
Nick also revealed he sought advice about City from two of the club's former Australian players.
"I spoke to Luke Wilkshire and Adam Federici," he added. "I did a bit of research but it all came back very positive.
"That made me, my wife and the little boy all the happier to be making this move."
