DARREN SEES FRIENDLY FACES

Posted on: Thu 30 Aug 2007

Darren Byfield's signing at City was almost lost in the euphoria of last night's enthralling Carling Cup tie with Manchester City.

But the new recruit from Millwall - who penned a one-year deal - met a number of familiar faces at Ashton Gate last night as he watched his new team-mates in cup action.

The striker told bcfc.co.uk: "I know a lot of the lads here already, for numerous reasons.

"Kevin Betsy is the godparent of my daughter, and obviously I played with Marvin (Elliott) at Millwall last season.

"I also know Scott Murray because I played with him in my time at Aston Villa.

"On top of that I bumped into all the lads when they were celebrating promotion in Marbella in the summer."

Darren has been handed squad number 34, the shirt vacated following David Partridge's departure this week.
