I'M SO EXCITED - DARREN
Darren Byfield was delighted to complete a move to City today, saying: "It's the most excited I've felt about a move ever."
The striker signed a one-year contract at Ashton Gate just before the Carling Cup clash with Manchester City, after City agreed an undisclosed fee with Millwall.
Speaking exclusively to Bristol City World, Darren said: "This is a very big move for me and I'm delighted to be joining the club.
"Bristol City is a massive club and they are a team in the Championship. They were very successful last season and I want to be apart of that success.
"I'm very excited about getting started with the club. In fact it's the most excited I've felt about any move."
Darren only played two games in pre-season for Millwall, so he may have to wait to make his City debut.
"It's down to the gaffer," he said. "I'll work hard in training and if the gaffer thinks it's right to put me in I'll be delighted.
"There's a great squad here and I know I've got plenty of competition for a place in the first team."
And the 30-year-old also revealed how he first found out about City's great team spirit over the close season.
"I bumped into the lads in Marbella in the summer and they are a great bunch," he added.
