Tamas Vasko has described his loan move to City as a "dream come true".
The 23-year-old completed a one-year loan move - which could yet be converted into a permanent deal - from Hungarian side Ujpest today.
And after meeting his new team-mates in training and at the annual photoshoot, Tamas told Bristol City World of the move: "It's come around in such a hurry.
"Only two days ago my manager told me I had to go to Bristol, yesterday I arrived and now I'm happy to be here with the deal signed.
"The club is big and the city too. I hope I can play in a lot of matches for the club and do well.
"I enjoyed my football with Ujpest, I was their captain, but moving here is a dream come true."
The Hungrian, who has played three times for his country, added that he watched plenty of English Premiership football back in Hungary.
When asked to describe himself, Tamas said: "I'm a central defender. I'm tall and I like heading the ball, hopefully I'll score a few goals from free kicks as well."
Manager Gary Johnson told bcfc.co.uk: "We've brought Tamas to the club to enhance our squad.
"The timing of Jamie McCombe's injury isn't ideal so we've needed to bring in another big, first ball-winning centre-half.
"Tamas has become available and the club sorted out a very good deal, which suits all parties.
"When I met him for the first time I knew he was right for me and our football club. He speaks good English, is only 23 and has his whole football career ahead of him."
