GIMENEZ SET FOR EXIT

Posted on: Tue 24 Jul 2007

Damian Gimenez looks likely to leave Ashton Gate this week after rejecting the chance of an extended trial at City.

The Argentine trialist broke his nose during a match on tour in Latvia, but boss Gary Johnson made it clear the door was still open for the 25-year-old when it had fully healed.

However, in the meantime Gimenez has received offers from back home in South America and now looks likely to move on.

Gary told bcfc.co.uk: "He has a couple of other offers on the table and it looks as though he will take up one of those.

"I can only offer him something very short-term at the moment. I've spoken to his representatives and a trial period is not what they want at this stage.

"He has been offered contracts at two other clubs and I expect him to fly home very soon."
