BELIEF IS GROWING - JAMIE
Jamie McCombe says the players can feel the belief growing among supporters that this is going to be a promotion season.
City's defensive lynchpin received what he described as a "great buzz" from the 19,000 crowd at Ashton Gate for the 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest and expects more of the same when Swansea City visit the stadium on Saturday.
Speaking on Bristol City World, Jamie said: "The fans were right behind us against Forest and on the pitch you could feel them willing us on and believing in us.
"I'm sure the same will apply against Swansea and it gives us a lot of confidence. The manager thinks we need three more wins from six games and ideally we want those victories in our next three fixtures.
"If that doesn't happen we will continue to work hard and if we show the same work-rate as against Forest I'm sure we shall achieve our aim.
"Personally, I still believe Scunthorpe could slip up and I desperately want us to finish the season as champions."
Jamie admitted surprise that Forest appeared content with a point on Saturday, even though it left them still four adrift of City.
"If I had been one of their players I would have wanted all three points," he said. "But they played with one up front for part of the game and sent on a midfielder for a striker, which said it all about the way they viewed the game.
"We were happy enough to keep the gap as it was, although I felt we deserved to win for our second half display. We had the chances and couldn't quite take them.
"The Forest goal resulted from a brilliant cross which was so hard to defend. We need to get a few similar balls in to test our opposition in the remaining games."
