NEW STADIUM: CONSULTATIONS

Posted on: Tue 16 Jun 2009

You will be aware that Bristol City Football Club is bringing forward exciting proposals for a new regional stadium for Bristol.

The present stadium site, Ashton Gate, plays a crucial role in securing the Club's future plans. As the Club's main asset, its redevelopment is essential in funding the new stadium, continuing the regeneration of south Bristol and supporting Bristol in bidding to be one of the 2018 World Cup host cities.

The club have decided that a foodstore development of the stadium site would provide the necessary financial input as well as the potential to provide further economic and community benefits to the area.

To this end, the Club have been working with Tesco to draw up initial plans for how such a scheme might be delivered.

The Club are holding public exhibitions to give you an opportunity to view information on the emerging proposal, and the benefits that such a development would bring including jobs and community facilities. The project team will be available to discuss the proposals and answer any questions you may have.
