Young supporters are very welcome at Ashton Gate, and we put a lot of effort into making them feel welcome.
In February 2011 club was awarded the Family Excellence Award by the Football League for the second successive season.
Our mascot, Scrumpy the Robin tours the ground before each game, and is always happy to say hello to young fans. We also have face painters inside the ground for selected matches.
We also actively participate in the Football League's 'Enjoy The Match' campaign, which is aimed at making football grounds welcoming places for families. We adopt a zero tolerance attitude to foul mouthed, abusive or racist comments in our family areas. If you feel that your children are being subjected to language that you don't want them to hear, don't hesitate to contact the nearest steward.
Football clubs, schools or other organisations who make group bookings can also apply to be flag bearers at the start of the match or second half, or take part in a pitch parade at half-time.
Our chairman Steve Lansdown also presents a signed cap to a young supporter attending his or her first match at Ashton Gate, an initiative that was recently taken on by the Football League's remaining 71 clubs in association with npower. We only give away one cap per game, on a first come, first served basis.
Our award winning programme 'Well Red' has its own dedicated pull out section for young supporters. It features cartoons, quizzes, competitions, player interviews, photos and a regular column by top kids TV presenter Sarah-Jane Honeywell.
Please bear in mind that there is limited car parking close to Ashton Gate. Please allow ample time to get to the ground, particularly if you have young children who may not be able to walk too far or too fast.
If you would like more information on being a flag bearer, being 'capped' by the Chairman, or have any questions or suggestions as to how we can further improve our facilities for young supporters at Ashton Gate, please e-mail marketing@bcfc.co.uk.
