OPPOSITION
Derby come to Ashton Gate safe from relegation but also out of contention for the play-offs, just like their hosts City. Ten defeats in their first 17 Championship matches of the season put paid to any hope of a return to the Premier League. But the Rams have steadily improved over the season and it could be a big close season for the Midlands club. They boast a wealth of experience, with the likes of Robbie Savage, Rob Hulse and Gary Teale on their books.
MANAGER
The son of legendary manager Brian Clough, Nigel is now trying to build his own legacy. A huge success at Burton Albion, building a sound footing for the Brewers that would eventually lead to their promotion to League football. He left Burton for Derby County in January, when they were already 19 points clear at the top of the Conference table. At Derby he has radically changed the squad, with plenty of incomings and outgoings.
