The 2016/17 campaign began with just one win in six matches for the Yorkshire club, but since then Garry Monk’s side haven’t really looked back. They’ve only drawn one game in the league since October, with wins coming more regularly than defeats until recently. Three defeats in their last five outings has seen Leeds fall ten points behind the automatic promotion places, but they still look well positioned to secure a top-six finish.
Garry Monk took his first steps into management at Swansea City, where he spent ten years of his playing career. An interim appointment after Michael Laudrup's sacking, Monk was then given the permanent role by Swans chairman Huw Jenkins. Monk took Swansea into the Europa League Round of 32, where they were beaten by Napoli. He also kept them in the Premier League. By December 2015, Swansea had won just once in 11 outings, leading to Monk's dismissal. He penned a one-year rolling contract at Leeds in the summer.
Jeremy Simpson will be in charge of the match, assisted by Shaun Hudson and Nick Hopton. Peter Bankes has been named as the fourth official.
The match is pay on the night for City fans. A beamback will also be available in the Sports Bar & Grill at Ashton Gate, with doors open from 6pm.
