David Cotterill believes City’s fighting spirit on display at Leeds United will stand them in good stead for the final third of the season.
City found themselves 2-0 down at Elland Road, but responded by playing their best football of the match and created several chances to reduce the deficit.
By the time the breakthrough finally arrived when Milan Djuric headed home Cotterill’s stoppage-time corner, it was too little too late.
“In the last two games we’ve played against two of the top eight teams who are pushing for promotion,” Cotterill told Bristol City Player HD
“We haven’t played badly but the result is the most important thing at this time of year.
“A lot of teams can say it’s easy to play well when you’re 2-0 down, which it is, because the pressure’s off.
“But we still had chances and maybe should’ve got something out of the game.
“Flinty has hit the crossbar and Milan has had a couple of chances before we got the late goal, so it’s good that we can keep fighting right to the end.
“Hopefully that will stand us in good stead for the rest of the season.”
