City have confirmed the signing of Brighton & Hove Albion defender Lewis Dunk on a one-month loan deal.
The 21-year-old centre-back has made 54 appearances in all competitions for his hometown club, where he graduated through the youth system.
Dunk, who stands at 6ft 4in, was a regular for the Seagulls in the 2011/12 campaign, but has not started a first team game since last December.
Head coach Sean O’Driscoll told bcfc.co.uk
: “With the loss of Jimmy O’Connor we needed to strengthen our defensive options.
“Lewis is a young player who can play at centre-half on the left or right side.
“At 6ft 4in, aerially he makes us stronger, but with the way Brighton play he will be composed on the ball and used to keeping possession.”
Dunk, who joins on a 28-day loan period, will go straight into the squad for tomorrow’s away trip to Port Vale.
The deal is subject to Football League approval.
