Liam Kelly finally completed his transfer to Bristol City tonight and spoke of his delight at the switch.
City have paid an undisclosed sum to Kilmarnock to bring in the midfielder on a three-and-a-half year contract, subject to international clearance.
“I’ve been in England before with MK Dons, served my apprenticeship and then moved to Kilmarnock for four seasons.
“It’s a big step to take (to come to Bristol City) but one I’m looking forward to. I can’t wait to get going now and get training with the lads.”
He added: “I heard about the club’s interest a couple of weeks ago. Things have sped up in the last day or so and things have been sorted out with Kilmarnock for me to come down and sign.
“I’ve been following the results closely in recent weeks and things haven’t been too far away really.
“As long as all the paperwork (international clearance) is sorted, I’d love to be involved on Saturday against Leicester City.”
Asked about his style of play, the 22-year-old said: “I’m a box-to-box midfielder; hard-working and someone who wants to win. I want to help Bristol City achieve a good league position this season to build on next year.”
