Bristol City managing director Jon Lansdown insists the board will continue to back manager Derek McInnes in the transfer market. The January window opens in a little under three weeks and McInnes is keen to strengthen a squad that is again involved in a protracted fight against relegation.

Bristol City winger Albert Adomah has revealed a training ground competition led him to take the match-winning free-kick against Sheffield Wednesday. Adomah was given the chance to take the set-piece in the 88th minute, despite never scoring from a free-kick during his five years as a professional.

Garry Monk will answer an SOS from Swansea boss Michael Laudrup less than three months after almost quitting the club. Centre-back Monk has revealed he was close to joining Bristol City in August after being told by Laudrup he would not be a first choice at the Liberty Stadium.
