Celebrating our history
We are delighted to officially launch the new Former Players Association with ex-Robins Legend Scott Murray serving as Chairman of the new organisation, with Marina Dolman acting as Honorary President.
The initiative has been welcomed by former players and will provide a platform for its members to once again become a valued part of the club moving forward.
The launch of the former players association is an indication of the efforts being made at Ashton Gate to bridge the gap between City's past and future. The club understands the importance of strengthening the connection between the fans and the club and establishing the Former Players Association is just the start of a host of things to come.
The Former Players Association will be run as a non-profit-making organisation and will stage regular sporting and social events for its members.
It is fitting that Marina Dolman should offer her support. The widow of former City chairman Harry Dolman, she is currently celebrating her 50th season with the club and will act as the association's figurehead.
