Ashton Gate Stadium is the home of Bristol City Football Club and from the 2014/15 season, Bristol Rugby Club. Work is now underway to transform Ashton Gate into a state-of-the-art 27,000 capacity stadium.
The work will consist of three separate phases to the Wedlock, Dolman and Williams Stands. The existing 86-year-old Wedlock Stand demolished and completely rebuilt, with new conference facilities, administration offices, sports bar, café and shops, before the Dolman Stand is redeveloped. Work will then begin to demolish and rebuild the Williams Stand.
Bristol Sport is responsible for the management of the £45m pound rebuild and fans can track the progress and view a time lapse camera of the rebuild on the Bristol Sport website.
The Atyeo Stand was built in 1994 to replace the old open terrace. The Home and Away team dressing rooms are now in the Atyeo Stand. Blocks B, C and D are for away fans only, while blocks E-H are for home fans, H being the Family Stand. Official capacity: 4,249.
A two sectioned stand, with lower tier only added in 1995. Beneath the stand is the Bristol Post Dolman Exhibition Hall, home to the Supporters Club. Official capacity: 6,195.
The Lancer Scott Williams Stand
This stand incorporates old wooden seating, new Premier Seating and the Director's Box. Ashton Gate's Press Box can also be found at the back of this stand. There are a few supporting pillars only affecting the upper part of the stand, which houses home fans only. Official capacity: 5,553.
